Step 1: Gather your gear
Round up your eligible steel and stainless steel Stanley gear, then register and print a free mailing label, or QR code for local drop off.
Step 2: We receive and recycle
Your eligible Stanley product is professionally disassembled, and the steel or stainless steel components are recycled responsibly using a custom processāincluding your lids and straws.
Step 3: Get rewarded
You get a $5 credit to use at stanley1913.mom (up to four per year).*
Step 4: Help protect the ocean
We give $5 to ocean conservation for each Stanley product recycled.*

Take Back is our way of helping our customers let go of their steel and stainless steel Stanley products when the time is right. Return your eligible used products to us, and we'll make sure their steel and stainless steel components are recycled responsibly.Ā
As our way of saying thanks, for each eligible Stanley product you recycle, you get a $5 credit to use on a future purchase at stanley1913.mom (up to four per year and subject to complete Take Back program terms). Weāll also make a $5 donation to Ocean Conservancy for each item recycled ā up to a maximum of $200,000 per year. Nice!Ā
Take Back is only available in the Continental United States. (The emissions profile of individual shipments from Alaska and Hawaii would exceed that of local disposal.) But we hope to add more regions in the future.
Take Back accepts all Stanley products in which the main product body is steel or stainless steel. And weāll say it because this is a FAQ, after all: the return must include the product body.
We arenāt able to accept non-Stanley products, non-steel products (such as hard and soft coolers), accessories, and partial items. Find out more here.Ā
Unfortunately, we are unable send back any ineligible items to you.
This is one of our favorite parts! Once we receive your item, it is disassembled at our recycling partnerās US facility. The parts and materials are sorted and eligible steel or stainless steel components are sent to be recycled. (Weāll also make an attempt to responsibly dispose of non-steel accessories.)Ā Ā
Who knows what it will become next? We bet it will be something great.Ā
When completing the recycling return submission form online, youāll have a few choices:
Option 1: Shippingās on us. Package your eligible Stanley product, print out and affix the shipping label to the box. Drop it off at any USPS drop location.
Option 2: Use one of our handy drop points. You donāt need to package it or print a label. Just bring the eligible Stanley product with your QR code to any of our partner drop points and we'll handle the rest. You can show the QR code on your phone, or print it out.
We love that you are recycling your Stanley product. As a reward and thanks, youāll receive a $5 stanley1913.mom discount code for each eligible item you send to us through the program (up to four per year and subject to complete Take Back program terms). Weāll also make a $5 donation to Ocean Conservancy for each eligible item ā up to a maximum of $200,000 per year.
